May 27th: Founders Hosts Embraer Phenom 300

On May 27th, 2010, Founders Aviation was privileged to host Houston's first Embraer Phenom 300 at Enterprise Jet Center, Hobby Airport. This invitation-only event provided an introduction to clients and interested parties looking to see firsthand the result of new-technology, high performance, and superior quality with Embraer's latest entrant into the light/mid-size jet category. Following the event, Founders Aviation aircrew were afforded the opportunity to put the Phenom 3000 through its own performance evaluation, with left-seat demonstration flights flown by both Michael Rees (Director of Operations) and Keith Harrison (President & CEO).

Embraer's Phenom 300 was most impressive to clients and staff alike, with three key features standing head and shoulders above competing technology:

1. Cockpit Integration: The Prodigy 300 (based on Garmin's G1000 system) was simple to understand, packed with tremendously useful information, and an overall situational awareness enhancement. Several "new-technology" cockpits evaluated by Founders Aviation have proven to be disorganized and incredibly complex to understand and integrate. However, Embraer's efforts to ensure a seamless transition are evident, resulting in a system that to date is "best in class."
2. Cabin Space & Comfort: Whether seat pivots & adjustments, shoulder space, LED lighting, large windows, easily accessible cabin controls, embedded entertainment & productivity aids, or a litany of other features, Embraer spared no expense to create a cabin enabling a safe, comfortable, usefully productive experience.
3. Performance: Throughout multiple demonstration and evaluation flights conducted by Founders Aviation, most impressive to aircrew was the Phenom 300's capability in several flight regimes. Whether minimum time to climb, high-speed performance approaching Mach 0.78, stability during slow-speed approaches and in the landing configuration, or ease of checklist implementation, the Phenom 300 is a definitely "game-changer" that makes a difference.
